Distributed finite-time consensus of nonlinear systems under switching topologies

چکیده
In this paper, the finite time consensus problem of distributed nonlinear systems is studied under the general setting of directed and switching topologies. Specifically, a contraction mapping argument is used to investigate performance of networked control systems, two classes of varying topologies are considered, and distributive control designs are presented to guarantee finite time consensus. The proposed control scheme employs a distributed observer to estimate the first left eigenvector of graph Laplacian and, by exploiting this knowledge of network connectivity, it can handle switching topologies. The proposed methodology ensures finite time convergence to consensus under varying topologies of either having a globally reachable node or being jointly strongly connected, and the topological requirements are less restrictive than those in the existing results. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme. © 2014 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Distributed Consensus of Nonlinear Multi-Agent Systems on State-Controlled Switching Topologies
This paper considers the consensus problem of nonlinear multi-agent systems under switching directed topologies. Specifically, the dynamics of each agent incorporates an intrinsic nonlinear term and the interaction topology may not contain a spanning tree at any time. By designing a state-controlled switching law, we show that the multi-agent system with the neighbor-based protocol can achieve ...
متن کاملDistributed Finite-Time Consensus Control for Second-Order Multi-Agent Systems Under Switching Topologies
This paper studies the finite-time consensus problem for the second-order multi-agent networks with switched topologies. Based on the graph theory, matrix theory, homogeneity with dilation and LaSalles invariance principle, the finite-time consensus protocol is designed based on both relative position and relative velocity measurements and theoretically shown to guarantee finite-time consensus,...
متن کاملFinite-time semistability, Filippov systems, and consensus protocols for nonlinear dynamical networks with switching topologies
This paper focuses on semistability and finite-time semistability for discontinuous dynamical systems. Semistability is the property whereby the solutions of a dynamical system converge to Lyapunov stable equilibrium points determined by the system initial conditions. In this paper, we extend the theory of semistability to discontinuous autonomous dynamical systems. In particular, Lyapunov-base...
متن کاملConsensus for multi-agent systems with inherent nonlinear dynamics under directed topologies
This paper considers the consensus problem for multi-agent systems with inherent nonlinear dynamics under directed topologies. A variable transformation method is used to convert the consensus problem to a partial stability problem. Both first-order and second-order systems are investigated under fixed and switching topologies, respectively. It is assumed that the inherent nonlinear terms satis...
متن کاملFixed-time consensus of multiple double-integrator systems under directed topologies: A motion-planning approach
This paper investigates the fixed-time consensus problem under directed topologies. By using a motion-planning approach, a class of distributed fixed-time algorithms are developed for a multi-agent system with double-integrator dynamics. In the context of the fixed-time consensus, we focus on both directed fixed and switching topologies. Under the directed fixed topology, a novel class of distr...
